JAPAN

- travel simply -

Nara is the original and ancient capital of Japan and is only second to Kyoto with eight UNESCO world Heritage sites. Nara holds a cultural legacy and its centerpiece is the Daibutsu (the Great Budda), one of Japan’s most impressive sights. One of its most treasured attractions, and what Nara is known for, are the sacred deer that roam freely in Nara Park, the location of most of its best-known temples. These deer, “messengers of the gods” are a favorite for families, tourists, and locals.
